At Hand-Crafted Log Homes, we specialize in the hand hewn Appalachian dovetail style. Because we are custom log home builders, the homeowner has the choice of chinking between the logs in the traditional manner, or our full scribe dovetail.

If you like the overall style but do not like the chinking, our full scribe logs have the Appalachian appeal without the maintainance of the chinking. With this choice, each log is scribed to fit precisely on top of the log below it providing the weather tight seal necessary for a warm log home.

Each of our Appalachian Dovetail homes may be hewn by broadax or planed to a smooth finish. Because we are custom builders we can tailor your log home plans to your specific needs and wants.

Hand-Crafted Log Homes specializes in heavy timber roof and floor systems. All of our timber connections are done with traditional mortise and tenon joinery.
