About Hand-Crafted Log Homes
It was while attending Virginia Tech that I hewed my first
log. I remember picking up the broadax and thinking "You've got to be kidding,
you want me to do what?" It was after the third or fourth stroke that my
heart started to race as the shavings were falling around my feet.
I was addicted from that moment on. I never really tried to make log building
my life. It just happened. I think that all handcrafters have one thing in
common.
We all love the craft.
The snow may be blowing in your ears and down your
collar, your fingers so cold that they tingle when you move them. But
when you pick up your slick and scarf off that last wood shaving and the
notch
comes together as seamless as water....it's the perfect day.
